LED, acrylic, wood light DIY project

This project was inspired by viewing of multiple do it yourself videos on Youtube. The lamp is 90mm x 90mm acrylic/softwood pierced through with 1/2 inch pipe and mounted on to reclaimed oak floor board. Installation uses led strip light wrapped around the core pipe. Multi color options with this led strip allows you to change the color of the light according to your mood.

Hey was just wondering, wheres the best place to find the acrilic blocks on the cheap?

Nathan Crosby says:

I am curious, with the LED’s did you find that the they started to crack and come apart after a few days? Whenever I try to wrap them that tight they always end up breaking a few days later.

hot tuna for the win. What adhesive did you use to stick wood and acrylic block?

klatuveradanikto says:

You can remove the saw marks from the acrylic by gently “flame polishing” the exposed surfaces with a torch. Makes it crystal clear.
