Mike, Just FYI..I had a nasty BBA outbreak and I found Flourish Excel syringe applied to the BBA worked a hell of a lot better than the Hydro P. Turns it red and if you get a Siamese algae eater he will much it down. did you try that new stuff from Boyd yet?

MR Oz says:

What do you use for the top of your planted fresh water tanks? I have a marineland LED (which looks just like what you’re using, if not, the same (a very similar type and design) light but it doesn’t sit very hight above the water and I want to optimize the light as effectively as possible but also factor in O2 and CO2 and not allow them to escape so to speak if it’s recommended that I have some sort of transparent glass cover atop the water? Thank you.

JK-Aquatics says:

Tanks looking really good. I’m also dealing with BB Algae. what a pain it can be.

Joseph Ruopoli says:

try four or five siamese algae eater’s,they do wonders with black algae

The Salient says:

Craig Brookwell says:

do you think the chemi pure green has helped? you got any more info on it?

Mark Copley says:

what are the weird swimming fish?

Jonah Foust says:

Adding to that, co2 instability is what causes BBA. If you plan on using CO2, definitely increase it and make sure your checking your CO2 levels in the tank both day and night. When lights are on and off. Hope this tank turns out really well. Blyxa is a great jungle foreground plant.

Cullen Kawano says:

looking great! I’m gonna subscribe to myaquariumbox today!

yaoming yen says:

What happen to the 75 planted? i am so lost.

T Holz says:

Nice video! I had black beard algae grow out of control in one of my tanks . Killed lots of my plants. Next time I’ll attack it as soon as I see it like you are. I overdosed excel and after a few weeks it was gone.

Dillon Williams says:

Just bought a marineland LED light it gets here tomorrow is it worth the money? Also im new to planted tanks and plants werent doing so good with my other LED so i bought the marineland and put fluval substrate in my tank would u recommend co2? I have a lot of people that tell me not to and a lot that tell me to get a kit.

j03yYunG Aquariums says:

Best solution is add 1 SAE and it’ll take care of it.

pelphrey says:

You ready for your quarter back to come back?

garrisonmsmith4321 says:

Looking great!! Just curious how are amono shrimp with boesemi rainbows? I want to add some shrimp to my tank.

Reid Smith says:

Tank looks great man it seems to look a hell of a lot more filled in having only been running for one month and I love that scape

Jonah Foust says:

Great tank, but honestly I wouldn’t be running CO2 unless you had some higher end plants in there. you have a lot of Low-tech plants in there and honestly it’s going to cause more problems adding CO2 then not.

Stéphane Chevalier says:

Looks cool anyway ! Did you ever installe your circulation pump ?

Mr. FishPlants says:

What do you think of my 10 mass? I’m thinking of getting a 40 long with a eheim classic 2215, hydro inline heater, inline c02 diffuser, ada Amazonia, finnex ray 2, and apistogrammas

Allison Behringer says:

Thanks Mike… That is truly a beautiful tank – VERY well done. To say I’ve never battled BBA would be bad juju – so I won’t… But, I’m very glad to know your method. I love your videos, as you are an awesome source of practical instruction. Please MAKE MORE of them!!

Ivan Lolwing says:

i have a question.will a 18 in flouresent light with a aqueon floramax on a 55 gal work?

The Salient says:

Ok well mine is freshwater planted low tech, don’t have co2 nor do I know how to use it , were u happy with it?
