There’s a screw in the wall in the top-right corner in the beginning of the video.
Low production value!!

Memeorandum of Understanding says:

or use good old fluorescent tubes….cheap and good CRI rating.

Andy Sontag says:

For those wanting to build these lights, it appears Matt changed his mind about how many he wanted to show together, hence the video cut from three fingers to 5 fingers. This means you’ll need to order two LED strips of each color in order to build 5 lights of the size Matt shows in his video. The seller appears to be sold out of the 97 CRI daylight strips as of 9/14. They are currently only listing the 95 CRI daylight strips. I’m not sure which version Matt was referring to in his video.

If you’re looking for the power sockets try searching for “power jack sockets” on Aliexpress. Someone else will likely know which size is best though most power supplies seem to be compatible with both 5.5mm x 2.1mm and 5.5 x 2.5mm socket sizes.

In order to power 5 Matt sized lights on full brightness from all three strip types you would need a 12 volt power supply capable of at least 15 amps of current if all 5 lights are daisy chained together like Matt’s does. Though you wouldn’t want to do this as at least one of your power sockets would melt in a few seconds. In normal daylight only use with full brightness you’ll need a 6 amp supply for 5 lights daisy chained together. Just know that you’ll be pushing 6 amps through a 5 amp socket which is pretty close to the point where the socket starts to melt. To be safe and be able to daisy chain 5 lights you’d probably want to use a 5 amp supply and be ok with not being able to get full brightness.

I’m looking forward to making these lights. Very nicely done Matt!

What exactly is the white plastic material you used in this video? You refer to it as Low Density PVC. Is it Low density PVC foam sheet? like this: https://shgokai.en.made-in-china.com/product/SXOEMTajrdWA/China-Low-Density-PVC-Foam-Sheet-for-Advertising-Materials.html

The hardest Item to get out of the whole project would be the acetate. I’ve been looking online at my local hardware shops and on eBay and I can’t find it anywhere. Do you have a link to somewhere you got them from online or did you go to a hardware store to get yours?
