Nicely done. I can see this having some applications, but how durable is it? My concern would be how much weight or force could it stand before failure. Duct tape would give it some durability and add colors textures. You could spruce it up a bit with some wood veneers too.
The only thing I would have done differently would be to reinforce the shelves with zip ties, or something, prior to adding the outside shaped panels.
