DIY Outdoor Furniture | Outdoor Rocker w/ Shou Sugi Ban | Beginner DIY Project

Its the perfect time of year to build some DIY Outdoor Furniture. I made this outdoor rocking chair finished with stained shou sugi ban, and it is very much a beginner DIY project. This can be built in one day, and it probably took me about 4 hours. This outdoor rocking chair is built to match my outdoor sofa I did recently. Together they create an easy to build set of diy outdoor furniture any beginner diy’’er can tackle. The stained sho sugi ban is totally optional, but it adds a dramatic finish, and a pop of color. Let me know what y’all think in the comments. Thanks for checking it out!

Okay, this one I might actually try! We need something like this for our newly astroturfed back garden!

The Wood Yogi says:

This would great indoors too 🙂 Great design 🙂 ॐ

Make Things with Rob says:

Jonny, missed you buddy! You doing okay?

Great build!

EDIT: Love the colors!

Dave Tims says:

I’m thinking a roundover on the arms and chair edge may make it a bit more comfortable and knock off those sharp edges. Simple and sturdy…the best kind of outdoor furniture. Did I miss where you got the cushions from? Are they just home centre standard ones?

James Pearson says:

Just the burn

Fabio marques de toledo says:

trabalho perfeito,abraço Fabio do Brazil

Bruce A. Ulrich says:

Cool one, Jonny! Yeah, the color is bold, but I still like it. It really shows the grain in a great way. I like how much rock/travel this has…seems like it would be easy to sit in this on a nice summer day for hours. Great video!

RS says:

No Color, just the burn. IMO
Great chair though, thanks for sharing

G-Ro Tha Hero says:

It’s pretty dope! I like that!! Don’t get me wrong, I think It’s great, personally I’d like it just burnt. But overall I can dig it! Thanks!

Parabéns pelo seu trabalho Brasil

Rowland Custom Woodworking - Phillip Rowland says:

Killing it on every video. I love seeing the notification pop up in the mornings. Still unsure on the color, but it’s an awesome chair. Too bad it’s so hot outside in OKC you could have a heat stroke just rocking this right now.

Raynola Dominguez says:

Very cool, I love the look. Great color choices.

Dwayne Poff says:

Nice looking chair… where did you get the cushions???

J Peppler says:

Colour is awesome

Benny Gonzalez says:

Phenomenal color

Emily Lindstrom says:

I like burn and stained both, natural would be too plain I think. I like the color though with the red, if it had like tan cushions it wouldn’t be as good or a busy print it would look terrible but this is a great combo.

Rob Robertson says:

Turned out great as always. You make it look easy!

Grandpa's Gaming says:

Great video and i love the chair!! Liked and subscribed!

Brian Sargent says:

Congratulations on getting advert approved! One question I couldn’t find answers to on Google. Does it make a difference to how much you get paid if I skip the ad?

YouCanMakeThisToo says:

Came out great, Jonny!

Mortgage & Mitre says:

Tight! I like the pop of colour. I got to try the burn and stain one of these days.

David Mitchell says:

Love the chair, I’m not crazy about the color. But I definitely need to build one. Your videos are great and love your modern style.
