ltlvl2 says:

Hi, nice job! What made the gel stain so challenging?

Ross Nunn says:

It could have been better. If you’d have taken a bit more time with a bit of filler here and there like the front bottom door also using a brush for the stain rather than a foam pad. Also you notice a real difference with brush on primer. and using more than 1 Sand paper grade. However still a nice finish but not amazing.

What grit if send paper did u use

Mustlovebooks15 says:

I did my parents whole kitchen in that gel stain. You are supposed to do small sections then wipe off the stain. It takes about 2-4 layers of the stain to get the right color and you are supposed to wait about 8 hours between coats. It’s a giant pain in the ass but the colors come out fantastic.

Lessthanforty says:

I think it was difficult because you were using a foam brush.

You sanded it so good that regular stain would have worked perfect. Also, with the gel, just brush it on and wipe off all of the excess 🙂
